Red Feather 2025 Pre-Race Information

Dear Red Feather Runner,

We are looking forward to hosting you at the fourth running of the Red Feather Trail Jamboree this coming weekend, September 26-28.

Before we send you on your way, we’d like to draw your attention to some important details for race weekend.

Website Issues

We are aware that our website is currently having issues, and apologize – it’s being worked on. These issues seem specific to Windows machines, so mobile devices and Mac computers should still be able to access everything. If there’s particular information you’re unable to find, please let us know.

We have three days of racing on tap for race weekend. For all 3 races, packets will be available:

  • Race morning from the Coral Rock Dining Hall:

  • Sunday (HM): 7:00a – 8:15a

The full weekend schedule is available here.

Camping

If you booked either camping or cabins, you will have received a separate email with all the pertinent details you will need.

If you did not book camping for Thursday, Friday or Saturday night, but would like to we do still have space available (camping only). You can reserve camping here.

Close The Gate

When entering or leaving the property, please (please, please) close the gate behind your vehicle. There are cattle grazing at the ranch and we don’t want them getting loose.

The gate is secured by a chain.

Race Start & Parking

– The 50 mile race will start at 6:00am on Friday morning.

– The 50km race will start at 7:00am on Saturday morning.

– The Half Marathon will start at 8:30am on Sunday morning.

Race morning parking will be available in the grass parking area 3/4 mile down the main Ranch road after you enter the property.

The start for all three races will be by the Coral Rock Dining Hall, just under a half mile uphill from the parking area.

For those camping the night before, parking is available near the campsite in close proximity to the start.

There is no cell service on the camp property, or for much of the drive once you leave Fort Collins.  Print or download directions ahead of time.

Bib Numbers

Bib numbers will be assigned by Wednesday. You will be able to check your bib number on the RunSignup Entrant List.

If you need to drop out of the race for any reason during the race, you must check out with the staff at the nearest aid station.

Course & Course Marking

The course will be well marked with pink tape, pink pin flags, signs, and ground flour.

Check out the course resources on our website for printable maps, elevation profiles and GPX tracks.

Gear Bags

50 Mile runners may send drop bags to the Deadman (mile 21.4) and Granite Ridge (mile 32.4) aid stations.

Bags may be dropped off at packet pickup on Thursday evening or Friday morning. Please label bags with bib number, last name and aid station.

All runners may leave gear bags at the race/start finish each day.  It is roughly a half mile walk from either the camping area or main parking lot to the start/finish.

Race entries include a meal the day of the race.  Camping & cabin reservations include meal(s) for the evenings of your stay.

If you purchased extra meal tickets, you will claim them at the beginning of the food line.  If you have friends/family coming to join, additional meals can be purchased on-site for $10/ea (cash or card).

Post-race showers are available at the community shower house, located between the campground and dining hall by the First Aid Building. We have been told that the camp is currently experiencing some issues with the water supply, and while it will be running, they have asked us to request that you keep showers as short as possible and ensure taps/toilets are not left running.

Cupless

All runners should carry a 16oz minimum water bottle or bladder that can be refilled at aid stations.

Camp Property

The scout camp is private property, and we are grateful guests.  Respect the 15MPH speed limit on camp roads, keep showers reasonable, and ensure taps/toilets are not running.

Forest Service Trails

The Forest Service sections of the course are open to the public. Please be courteous to other users. Yield when appropriate, especially to equestrians if you come across them.

If you have any questions that are not covered here or on the race website, please email us at racedirector@gnarrunners.com.
