Joe’s passion for endurance sports started early – as a strong age group swimmer he joined his middle school cross country team to cross train and then quickly got interested in triathlon. After competing in swimming, cross country, and triathlon in college, Joe discovered his true passion of trail running. For him, it was the perfect mixture of testing personal limits to achieve challenging goals while also exploring further and further into natural spaces.
He ran his first 50k in 2015, and then worked his way to the 100 mile distance over the next several years. Joe completed the Gnar Slam in 2022, including several top ten finishes in the process. This year, Joe is competing in the Never Summer 100k and Run Rabbit Run 100 mile. He is looking forward to all of the training adventures that will be had along the way, and volunteering at races to encourage others in their own personal challenges.
