Coni grew up in Switzerland where she enjoyed rock climbing, mountaineering and backcountry skiing.
Her love to explore the mountains by running emerged when she moved to Salt Lake City, UT, with her husband in 2007 for graduate school and postdoctoral work. She found trail running to be the perfect stress release from her studies.
Some of the trail races Coni participated in during her time in Utah are the Antelope Island 50k, Speedgoat 50k, and the Moab Alpine to Slickrock 50 mile.
Coni and her husband welcomed their first son right after their move to Fort Collins in 2016. While running on trails was not as feasible for a few years while pushing a stroller and Coni ended up doing many of her runs on the bike paths, she is now enjoying the local trails and trail races even more.
