Waiting List

In the event that the race sells out, we will maintain a waiting list and transfer runners from the waiting list to the race roster should other runners already registered not be able to attend. Registrations will be capped at 250 entrants in the 50 mile race and 220 entrants in the 25 mile race.

Transfer & Refund Policy

In the event that the race sells out and there are runners on the waiting list, we will be able to offer a race-transfer and refund option according to the following schedule:

Until April 15: 75% refund of registration fee (excluding Ultrasignup fees).
April 15 – May 5: 50% credit of registration fee (excluding Ultrasignup fees). Credits may be applied to any future Gnar Runners race and will be valid for 12 months.

If we do not have runners on the waiting list available to accept a transfer entry, then unfortunately we will not be able to offer transfers or refunds.

Registered runners may also switch between races. Runners in the 25 mile race can pay the additional registration fee to upgrade to the 50 mile race. There is no fee for 50 mile runners to drop to the 25 mile race.

Runners who drop to the 25 on race day will not be eligible for 25 mile overall or age group awards but will receive a finish time and finisher award.

50 milers who request to drop to the 25 mile race by packet pickup will be officially entered into the 25 mile race starting at 8am and will be eligible for 25 mile awards. Otherwise all 50 mile entrants will be expected to start with the 50 mile race at 5:30am.

Cancellation Policy

With the exception of wait list transfers, entries are non-refundable and non-transferable. In the event the race is cancelled due to extreme weather, fire, or for some other unforeseeable event, we cannot offer refunds or credits.

If the race is cancelled for any reason before race day, we will reschedule for May 27th. We will re-open registration and will extend the original transfer policy until May 21st. If we are unable to run the race on the alternate date, then unfortunately we will need to permanently cancel the 2017 race and will not be able to offer any additional refunds or credits.
