Michelle Foster

Michelle grew up the daughter of a small town track coach running the windy bluffs of western Nebraska. Whether it was boxes in the basement, hurdles in middle school, or rugby in college, Michelle always preferred running with a few obstacles in the way. Trail running was a great fit plus an excellent way to explore where all the wild things are.

After moving to Colorado and discovering mountains were her idea of a good time, Michelle competed in many shorter trail races including the Black Squirrel Half. After moving up in distance to the Blue Sky Marathon, she decided to push for a terrifying new challenge and completed the Gnar Slam in both 2019 and 2020, running her first ultra distance races in the process.

When not making music, cooking or telling her animals how cute they are, Michelle is a running coach advocating for the increased participation of women in trail running and organizes a weekly trail women’s speed training group.
